Color Wheel Project
OVERVIEW
For our first project in Graphic design, we recreated a color wheel using Adobe Illustrator. Before we even started on the software, our teacher, Mr. Olsen showed us all the tools on the computer. Most of the tools we used were the selection tool and the shaper tool. The selection tool let us resize shapes, type in text boxes, and move everything around in the picture. the shaper tool let us do one of two things, either draw a shape, or chose a geometric shape from the software.
WHAT I LEARNED
I learned a lot about just using the software in general, especially since this was our first project. I learned a lot of the keyboard shortcuts. One of them was holding down the shift key, to resize shapes without warping them. This is when the shape loses its proportions while resizing. Another shortcut is holding down the option key while dragging a shape to another position. This create a duplication of the original shape.
HOW I DID
I think I did pretty well for my first time working with this software. The biggest struggle I had was working with the text tool. A problem I had was Forgetting to switch back to the selection tool before continuing with the project. This would jus make more and more text boxes, and I didn't know why. I think that this is an aspect of a software that I will just have to get used to.
